It is THAT time. The Bovine IS here. I know we’ve sent you a barnful of Dispatches lately. We want you to have a safe, fun, safe, memorable, and safe time on your visit. There is NOTHING more important to us than you being at the finish-line party with us.
As many of you know, our basic rule is:
Ride safe, have fun, go fast. In that order.
Please be sure you’ve read the rider guide, signed up for the pre-rides, checked out the Dispatches, and had your bike tuned up.
Future rider updates are mostly likely to be videos on our Bovine Instagram.
We’re all looking forward to seeing you over the next several days. Now, off to stuff some rider bags.
See you soon!

It's really more of a welcome shindig than a pick-up party. We hope to make it more festive and simple for y'all. Shekamoo Grill and Super Fiesta Market will serve food. Firestone Walker beers will be on hand. B and The Hive will perform from 4 PM to 6 PM.
Please line up in your appropriate corral Saturday morning. Since The Big & Happy Bovine courses split off at mile 3.5, they will line up at the front to avoid any mishaps at that right turn. This also means the first 4-5 miles will be completely chill and neutral.
The fun starts at 12:30. This gives Baby Bovine riders time to tidy up their hooves and horns beforehand.
Will there be changing tents?: Yep.
What’s the grub sitch?: Linn’s Bakery will be doing a BBQ. Hungry Mother Truck will be offering other delicious treats.
What beers will Firestone Walker offer?: 805, 805 Cerveza, and 8ZERO5, Pivo Pils, Oaktoberfest, Mind Haze, Union Jack, Cali Squeeze
What if we want more beer?: First one’s free, as they say. After that, you can purchase beer tickets from the Central Coast Concerned Mountain Bikers booth.
What about non-alcoholic drinks?: We’ll have Guyaki, mini cokes, bubbly water in coolers at the festival.
What? No finisher’s medal??: It’s not that we’re cheap. It’s just that we want you to leave with something you may actually use. Pop by the CCCMB tent to get your commemorative Viva Bovine beer glass. We’re pretty stoked on this year’s design.
Podium ceremony starts at 4pm. Remember: if you want your segment times to be counted, you have to ride your full course. We’ll have a few timing mats strategically placed on course to check that. At our core, The Bovine is a chill ride, and we won’t be able to look at STRAVA to compare. Our focus is fun first, competition second.
We’ve got some AMOOzing podium prizes from: Life Elements, Fierce Hazel, Sunshine Olive Oil, Voler, RideIt, Craig Roemer Wines, Justin Wines, and more!
If you donated $15 when you registered, you’ll get a ticket to our completely dope raffle. All proceeds support Central Coast Concerned Mountain Bikers. They’ll be selling tickets at their booth.
Here’s the prize list.
The female and male riders who finish their ride (regardless of distance) closest to 2 PM (but not after) win a new Enduro bottom bracket. Winners can select any BB Enduro makes up to $300 value, including the guaranteed-for-life XD15 models!
An effort like this deserves to be remembered. Immortalize your moment with a participation photo from the 2024 Bovine Classic. Whether you need digital downloads for your post race recap or a metal print to hang as a trophy, we've got options for everyone. Taylor Chase (IG @ChaseInColor)will be capturing participant photos throughout the course. You'll be able to find your photos at https://www.chaseincolor.com/Events or scan the QR code included within your packet!
We’ve added a couple more local discounts for you below. I’m particularly thrilled with the 50% discount at Negranti Ice Cream, which is a very short walk from Sunken Gardens. Heck, all of these are short hop, jump, and a skip from the festival grounds.
